In just four years, Cal Dooley has transitioned his career from Congress to the leadership of Washington’s top-tier trade associations. On July 9, he was named the CEO of the American Chemistry Council, a $120 million trade group representing chemical and energy companies. He’ll start the job Sept. 8, succeeding Jack Gerard who has served as CEO since 2005 and who became known for reorganizing ACC and boosting its lobbying efforts.
